This webinar, organised by ICARUS, is the final session in a series dedicated to exploring each of its three demo cases in depth.
In this session, the focus will be on Demo Case 3: Steelmaking slag upgrading through carbon capture routes into value-added materials.
ICARUS Demo Case 3 investigates the upcycling of steelmaking slags through Precipitated Calcium
Carbonate (PCC) process to produce treated slags suitable for construction, ceramic, steel applications and sustainable PCC.
In addition to ICARUS contributions, the session will feature speakers from the EU-funded projects CO₂Valorize, CARBCOMN, and ECO SLAG CEM, haring insights on CO₂ mineralisation, the circular use of industrial carbon streams, and the valorisation of steel slag into more sustainable cement and construction materials.
The webinar will provide valuable insights into the processes, challenges, and opportunities associated with transforming steelmaking slag into high-value products through innovative carbon capture approaches.
